Bio: Gail Simpson is a sculptor and public artist who works on projects individually and as part of Actual Size Artworks, a collaborative team. She is originally from Chicago and has an MFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  She has exhibited temporary projects around the United States and Europe. She recently showed a series called “Failed Mascots” at Abel Contemporary Gallery, a group of sculptures that combine theme park figures, cartoon animals, and yard ornaments. This work arises from her interest in the human-built environment. She resides in Stoughton, Wisconsin and teaches at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
