Wading (and waiting), performance, 2021
Artist Statement: I am a collector—a collector of stories, debris, and vessels that carry their past. Growing up in northern Idaho, I explored mountain forests haunted by the mechanized logging industry. The forest is a site where body and place collide: trees marked with orange neon X’s, snuffed campfires, and rust ridden machines dissolving into moss are residual traces of human
presence. I create assemblages, installations, and performances that elicit fragmentary
narratives to resurface like ghosts.
Bio: After receiving my MFA in 2018, I have continued to make and show my artwork. For me, art
making is a catalyst to reflect on the stories embedded in our bodies and the places we inhabit.
I am currently based in Moscow, Idaho, where I maintain an interdisciplinary art practice.
