Sponsored by: Wisconsin Salt Wise is a permanent pollutant. All the salt that we apply to pavement in the winter, and our water softeners year-round, ends up in our freshwater. Wisconsin Salt Wise is a coalition of organizations from across the state working together to reduce salt pollution in our lakes, streams and drinking water.
Bio: As an avid outdoors-person, Anna Orbovich’s time working and conducting research in the harsh and remote wild places ranging from the Arctic to the Desert to the Superior Hiking Trail in Northern Minnesota have vastly influenced the direction of her work.
In 2020, Orbovich received an Artist Initiative Grant in which she brought her studio practice outside while thru-hiking the Superior Hiking Trail in Northern Minnesota. While on trail, she used the process of cyanotypes and rubbings to create imagery for a limited edition artist book.
Orbovich earned an MFA with emphasis in printmaking, drawing and foundry from the University of Minnesota in 2019 and a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in printmaking and book arts in 2012.
Anna Orbovich is currently based in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region where she is a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. She is eager to continually find ways to bring her studio practice outdoors.
